Pro bono projects:
EAT – Chicago Future Fund
The mission of Equity and Transformation (EAT) is to build social and economic equity for Black workers engaged in the informal economy.
In 2021, EAT created the Chicago Future Fund (CFF), a guaranteed income program that provides direct cash payments for system-impacted individuals in Chicago. The first round provided $500/month for 30 post-incarcerated individuals living in West Garfield Park. The second round gave $500/month to 100 returning residents of Austin, Englewood, and West Garfield Park. In total, the CFF provided direct cash payments to 130 people in Chicago, totaling $870,000.
LEFF supported the design and amplification of the CFF’s impact report.
Growing Home
Growing Home is a USDA-certified organic urban farm, workforce development center, and nonprofit social enterprise in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago. Growing Home serves the Chicago communities through paid innovative employment training and local, healthy, affordable food.
LEFF has been supporting Growing Home on a variety of projects since 2016.
Food Animal Concerns Trust
FACT’s (Food Animal Concerns Trust) vision is that all food-producing animals are raised in a humane and healthy manner. They accomplish this by supporting humane farmers, promoting policies that make foods from animals safe and healthy to eat, and helping consumers make informed food choices.
LEFF supported a redesign of the FACT website and testimonial video projects in 2023 and 2024.

What we do
Favorite LEFF memory
Listening to The Mighty Mighty Bosstones on Fridays back in the day, stairwell strolls, and rooftop drinks at the Clinton office.
Favorite LEFF memory
Just six weeks into being at LEFF, it was time for the summer gathering. I was immediately amazed by the welcoming, vibrant, and engaging personalities of the whole team.
Favorite LEFF memory
Road trips to Bloomington for press checks. Between scrutinizing print colors, we’d hit up local record shops to dig through all the bins, fuel up on delicious pizza from Lucca Grill, and wrap it all up by engaging with the client. It was part business, part bad influence, and, honestly, peak creative energy.
Favorite LEFF memory
Going nearly undefeated at cornhole with Jake at last year’s summer gathering. I’ve never felt more like a jock.
Favorite achievement at LEFF
When we were told the editorial team had achieved the “holy grail”: being able to be candid with each other, including about things we’re struggling with or need help on.
Favorite achievement at LEFF
I went from having no career when I joined the company to helping run a department in less than five years. I didn’t know I was capable of something like that, and I’m proud to have stepped up where needed to keep things running smoothly with the support of a fantastic team.
How LEFF supports you
Mentors who continually work to support professional goals. People have also been there for major life events and celebrations. They’ve supported aspirations both inside and outside of work.
How LEFF supports you
I’ve had space to grow and take on new challenges, but I’ve also had teammates and leaders who are there when I need feedback or perspective. That balance has made a big difference, both professionally and personally.
How LEFF supports you
I have always felt like LEFF really invested in my success and provided so many opportunities for me to learn and grow.
We sincerely thank you for your engagement
with our team for the last 15 years. We can’t wait to see what the future holds.
