LEFF SUSTAINABILITY GROUP PRESENTS

INTO THE WEEDS,AN INTERVIEW SERIES

A note from the LSG Team:

This new interview series will explore issues at the intersection of the battle against climate change and ongoing efforts to achieve the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs lay out a shared agenda to ensure peace and prosperity—for us and the planet. They cover everything from eradicating extreme poverty and hunger to improving education, promoting gender equality, and building sustainable cities and communities.

We at Leff are, at heart, storytellers. We are dedicated to amplifying voices and causes from all over the world, regardless of gender orientation, race, or economic background. And the stories we tell as part of this series are particularly important to us. We will be interviewing inspiring individuals whose work contributes to the achievement of the SDGs at every level; we’ll bring you insights from the leaders of global organizations, renowned experts and academics, and innovative local businesses.

The work detailed below has also never been more urgent or more important. The likelihood that we will be able to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees above preindustrial levels has become vanishingly small; COP28, which will kick off in Dubai on November 30, 2023, will be one of the last opportunities for public- and private-sector leaders to make the ambitious commitments necessary to keep the pathway open. And, with just seven years left of the 15- year plan to achieve the SDGs, we are not on track to meet 80 percent of the 169 targets.

Our goal for this series is the same one that underpins all of Leff Sustainability Group’s client work: to use our storytelling skills to build awareness of the issues that threaten our planet and to draw attention to all the people, initiatives, and innovations that are fighting back.
